How Cryotherapy Works

During the standard 1-3 minute session a person will stand on an adjustable platform within the chamber. The person’s head remains outside of the chamber for the entire session. A technician will fill the chamber with nitrogen vapor, which drops the temperature to the range of (negative) -100 degrees to -150 degrees Celsius (that’s -300 degrees Fahrenheit!). This efficient process then allows for potent anti-inflammatory effects to take place.

A little history…

This may seem like a new trend but it’s actually been in use for over three decades in Europe and Japan. The concept of using (super) cold treatment dates back to centuries ago! How Does it Work?

RevealCryo uses liquid nitrogen, which is dispersed as a cold, dry, air over your entire body. Exposure to such extreme temperature causes your body to react with vasoconstriction (the walls of your blood vessels contract) which then acts as a pump to run all of this nutrient poor blood through your heart and lungs, increasing its nutrient and oxygen levels and pulling out harmful agents, such as lactic acid. After the treatment, you will quickly warm up. As this happens, your body vasodilates (those same blood vessels relax and open) , which now acts as a pump in the opposite direction. This pushes oxygen and nutrient rich blood back to the arms and legs. Some positive effects are felt right away.

This treatment have been used for the past 30+ years without any severe adverse reaction ever recorded. We take all precautions to ensure a safe, comfortable environment and experience for each person. Nitrogen makes up 78% of the air we breathe. This is the same substance used in the treatment. Throughout the treatment, the head is outside of the chamber and a person is breathing normal air in the room. For added safety, chambers are also equipped with an oxygen monitor at the level of the mouth, which will shut off the nitrogen supply should the oxygen concentration drop by 0.5%. In order to protect the more temperature sensitive tissues such as hands and feet, clients wear dry socks, slippers, and gloves, which we provide.

Once the membership is canceled, in order to be reactivated, there will be a one time re-activation fee of $49.99.

The following conditions are contraindications to whole body cryotherapy: Pregnancy, severe Hypertension (BP> 160/100), acute or recent myocardial infarction, unstable angina pectoris, arrhythmia, symptomatic cardiovascular disease, cardiac pacemaker, peripheral arterial occlusive disease, venous thrombosis, acute or recent cerebrovascular accident, uncontrolled seizures, Raynaud’s Syndrome, fever, tumor disease, symptomatic lung disorders, bleeding disorders, severe anemia, infection, claustrophobia, cold allergy, age less than 18 years (parental consent to treatment needed), acute kidney and urinary tract diseases.
